FUN CHRISTMAS SHOWS!

IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE, YOU NEED TO CATCH THESE SHOWS!

I finally had a day to just shop and have fun! That doesn't happen very often and when I get to spend it with my eldest, married daughter Cara, it's even more special. Our time alone together just being mom and daughter is very limited with careers, kids and just life!

We started the day at the first annual Aunt Bee's Old Fashioned Holiday Show in Salem at the historic and very cool Mission Mill. The show was put on by my friend Larena of Blackberry Junction fame and her friend Belinda of Danner & Soli fame which is located at the mill. Show dates were today and tomorrow Nov 21st 10-4pm.

What a fabulous selection of vendors in the most charming setting! I wish I had a better camera as my pictures just don't catch how beautiful this show was. If you can, make it over there tomorrow, I'm hoping this will be an annual event!

I just had by buy this apron by the famous Carol Curtis - very cheery for Christmas!

Vintage ornament wreaths - beautiful! They came in blue, gold and pink. Janet (Whatevers) crafted these, she's a vendor at my August antique faire.

Our next stop was The Vintage Roost Christmas at the Roost show.
Debbie & Dee have put this show on for several years now and it I think it's Albany's best kept little secret!

It was packed with customers when we arrived for the Friday evening special sale that started at 3pm and went till 7pm. This darling little shop is jam packed with hand-crafted decorations, antiques, paperwhite bulbs in vintage white ironstone, pillows & jackets made by Debbie and lots of yummy baked goods to buy.

It's definitely worth the drive and Albany is a very charming old town that's fun to explore!

We were greeted at the door by Chelsea, Dee's lovely daughter, serving cranberry tea, so festive!

The shop had an amazing collection of red transferware & cranberry glass all scattered with pink Christmas- delicious!

HOLIDAY TREASURES SHOW!

A magical start to the Christmas season at Molly Mo's & Vintage Trifles!

We had so many friends come to the show on Friday night and Saturday -
restocking had to be done after the flurry of Friday night early buying but there was still lots
to enjoy come Saturday morning! The weather was actually pretty good until later in the afternoon. We were lucky, after some wild Friday weather during the day, but by the evening it was calm and dry (mostly). How nice - a beautiful, sparkly evening!

I was so thankful for the help Friday evening of Joy, Patty and my daughter Molly. I didn't get a pic of Joy, it was so crazy!

My sweetie Matt and Martha. I could not pull this show off without his help, he is the muscle!

The twins Becca, Jenn and me

The best and cutest sugar cookies ever made by Patty. They were quickly gobbled up but I managed to get a shot, see a much better pic of these on Martha's blog.

Molly handled early buying at the door, she is the ham of the family as you can see....
Nacho kept her warm!

This was a vignette we created on the landing, the sign reads "How Mrs Clause copes..."
We all cope in our own ways don't we!

I have a little break and then time to get ready for the Monticello Christmas Show - this is also a must-see for the holidays! Starts Dec 4th!!

MORE SNEAK PEEKS!

IT'S ALMOST SHOW TIME....

I was so fortunate to have Elf Patty help me on Monday get a ton of things ready for the upcoming show this weekend. I don't usually have anyone help me get ready for shows (I'm a little of a control freak I guess!)

Patty strung all the crystals on this chandelier, it took a very long time but is absolutely gorgeous!!
The pictures do not do it justice, much prettier in person.

Having someone there to boss around was kinda weird - not the bossing around part because I'm really good at that with my own family but the helping part. What a treat! Thank you again Patty!!

It's so exciting to see everything come together and look so, well, Christmasy! Only 3 more days, a little scary but it will all come together and be fabulous, I promise!

I decided I needed another table top
size, white, Christmas tree for all the ornaments we'll have for sale. Patty and I went out to hunt for one without any luck but I finally found one at Michael's. You would think a white tree would be easy to find these days but they were all traditional green and just not the look I was after.

Do these stores not know how cool a white tree is? Do they not "get it", guess not. Anyway, Patty did manage to find a festive hat at Lowe's which you'll see below, very appropriate for an elf!

The perfect elf hat.....

I love vintage 1950's Santa's
